Community Supported Agriculture or CSA. A CSA is a program for you as a consumer to become a part of our farm and receive a weekly basket of produce. By making a financial commitment to our farm you become a member of our CSA program. Payment is due up front beginning the CSA season. Some CSA programs require a work obligation, but we do not. Due to our location it wouldn't be convenient for most members to make the trip down. Low Risk? The tradition of community supported agriculture is that all the members share the risk of the farm. If a catastrophic event would occur resulting in total loss of the crops the members would lose their investment. At Scott Arbor we take a different approach to this tradition. Its our guarantee to our members that if we can not provide you with a weekly share of organic vegetables within the limits that we promise, we refund your money. The risk you share at Scott Arbor is accepting that every year some crops will fail, but others will exceed expectations. Scott Arbor is a well run farm with over 20 years experience growing organically in central Texas. You invest in a promise we make. Membership. We want to build a relationship with our members and provide you with quality organic vegetables. We want that relationship to last for a long time so we limit our membership resulting in providing you with an abundance or fresh vegetables. Your share will be reserved for you with payment in full. The Winter Season. The winter CSA season will run from February through April. The winter season is 12 weeks long. Winter Vegetables. The vegetables featured for the Winter CSA Season are as follows: Red Butterheads, Green Shallots, Winter Spinach, Beets, Swiss Chard, Romaine Lettuce, Wieding Spinach, Broccoli, Cauliflower (white and cheddar), Green Leaf Lettuce and Pac Choi (green and red). The Summer Season. The Summer Season will run from the middle of May through the middle of August. The Summer Season is 12 weeks long. The Summer Vegetables. The vegetables featured for summer season are as follows: Pickling Cucumbers, Yellow Squash, Red Bell Peppers, Fresh Cut Basil, Zucchini Squash, Slicing Cucumber, Okra, Butternut Squash, Tomatoes, Burpless Cucumbers, Eggplants, Orange Bell Peppers, Yellow Bell Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers, Tatuma Squash, Sweet Italian Peppers, Yardlong Beans, Shallots, and Onions. Cost. $30 a week. This totals to $360 for either the Winnter or Summer CSA season. We may offer fruit during the winter or summer season at an additional cost. We're asking for your support with full payment of $360 by November 1 for the Winter Season or May 22 for the Summer Season. Please make checks payable to Scott Arbor.
